Welcome to Gloria’s on Exchange, a cozy home-away-from-home located in a quiet historic neighborhood, just walking distance from Downtown Union City, Tennessee. The bones of this two-bedroom cottage date to 1910, but this little house has received a loving renovation. 1980s-vintage “Cargo” furniture and numerous custom-made, one of a kind wood pieces give it a rustic warmth, but this is a fully wired, completely modernized space, with smart technology, wi-fi, and “Ring” doorbell security. Each of the main rooms—two bedrooms and a large living area—include electric heaters with simulated fireplaces for warmth and ambiance. The master bedroom includes a comfortable queen bed while the other offers two twin beds. Each bedroom has a full bath (tubs include dual-headed showers), stocked with towels, hair dryers, bath amenities, and plenty of hooks. Throughout, Gloria’s wall art, almost all original photography, reflects the owners’ love of travel and their devotion to America’s national parks. A tasteful dining area, which features images of area attractions, opens onto a spacious deck that is equipped with a gas grill. A well-appointed kitchen offers you the option of dining in with a full range of appliances and utensils as well as spices, oils, and ice. A coffeemaker and locally-roasted coffee are also supplied. Gloria’s on Exchange is ideally located with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and several area attractions. Full Disclosure: Please be advised that while Gloria’s offers a usually quiet and relaxing retreat, it is located in an urban area, not far from the central business district, a hospital, and train tracks, but we think the occasional train horn only adds to the atmosphere. There is also, currently, a dilapidated dwelling down the street—an eyesore to be sure but nothing to worry about—with some dogs that can be a bit noisy at times.
